Garden sauna with daybed

A pool in the garden was already available – and also a sauna in the house. But with a family of 5, it can get busy inside the house. Therefore, the desire was to move the wellness area completely to the garden in order to be able to relax deeply there. The client commented on this in an interview:

“We had the desire not only to move the sauna out of the house into the garden, but also the complete wellness experience with sauna, shower and, above all, the relaxation room for relaxing between sauna sessions.”

Were there any special challenges?

“Due to the size of the sauna house, we had to obtain a building permit and appropriate earthworks were necessary for the laying of the water pipes, but the project went smoothly.”

What do you particularly like about the sauna house?

“The overall design is very successful and the entire sauna is of very high quality. And because everything is united under one roof, we can now relax completely outdoors and go to the pool.”

Who uses the sauna – and how often?

“On average, we use the sauna once or twice a week, less in summer, but more often in autumn/winter. And in the meantime, 2 of our children have also found joy in using the sauna.”

What is your overall conclusion of the project?

“It’s perfect that the sauna and relaxation area are completely in the garden, with a peaceful distance from the house. And we can jump straight from the sauna into the pool. The sauna house is a visual highlight: both from the house, when the sauna is illuminated, and from the sauna, when you look at the cathedral. We are very satisfied.”

Rustic old wood gives cosiness

… because the large glass surfaces open up the room beautifully. The reclaimed wood provides warmth and a relaxing scent. Perfectly installed by Corso, it turned out exactly like that – simply beautiful.”

Reclaimed wood exudes its very own, rustic charm, because it has been shaped by wind and weather over decades into a wood with its very own character. The wood comes from old farmhouses and huts in Austria. After being removed, the waste wood was carefully cleaned and prepared before it was given its “performance” in the corso sauna.

Each board has its own appearance, none looks like the other. But that is exactly what is desired and what is special about the original old wood. And so it gives an old wood sauna its uniqueness and its very own charm.

In combination with the indirect LED lighting behind the backrests and the generous glazing, the wood comes into its own. The sauna benches made of thermo-aspen wood harmonise well with the old wood in terms of colour and result in a harmonious overall look.

Outdoor sauna XXL: can also be used as a guest house

The project shown here is a particularly large, extra-deep design: two buildings were placed next to each other on site. The second, rear part of the building has a separate passageway and is used by the client as additional garden storage space.

The outer walls are clad with Trespa®, which gives a high-quality look with fine shadow gaps. The material is ideal for outdoor use, because sun and rain have hardly any effect: The closed surface ensures that hardly any dirt accumulates and it is easy to clean. Trespa® is available in many colours. The design outdoor lights are colour-coordinated; the downpipe is invisibly integrated so as not to interrupt the linear overall appearance.

Sauna as a holiday island in converted chicken coop

After the conversion, nothing reminds of the dilapidated chicken coop, on the contrary: the wellness refuge was designed by the client with great attention to detail in warm blue tones reminiscent of a sea bay (bullfrog furniture by corso). The way there was not easy: the sauna builder was insolvent, the down payment was lost.

Then the builders came across corso and convinced themselves of us during a visit to the site. The sauna in thermowood with a rod look was built exactly as desired, and the inspiration for it was found during a visit to the exhibition. The client says: “The first sauna builder had only planned a glass door, the rest would have been covered with plasterboard cladding. On the other hand, the current sauna has become much more beautiful: straightforward without a disturbing frame, with a large glass front, yet very cozy and with great lighting effects.”

The conversion was not an easy affair due to the dilapidated foundations. “In contrast, the sauna construction went completely smoothly. When we stay in the sauna house now, we are completely disconnected from everyday life and feel like we are on vacation. That was quite simply my goal: to create a holiday island where we can feel like we are in a cozy sea bay. We love our sauna house and are thrilled how beautiful it has become.”

The sauna is also used by the adult children when they visit their parents’ house. Then everyone has their own bathrobe, and the wellness moments in the sauna house are used to relax and “spend time together”.

Especially in the colder months, the builders use the sauna one to three times a week, either as a Finnish sauna or as a milder variant with the evaporator as bio sauna.

Customized Garden sauna

The customized garden sauna looks very spacious and airy thanks to the glass elements. This is a wonderful place to take a sauna: the EOS sauna heater can withstand strong infusions, the sauna benches offer plenty of space to lie down. And right next to the sauna is the rain shower to cool off.

Last but not least, you can relax wonderfully on the cuddly daybed. The integrated drawer is practical, where sauna towels and infusions are stowed within easy reach. To accompany the sauna breaks with relaxing music, a Sonos sound system with an induction charging station at the head of the daybed was planned.

A pleasant temperature, even in the colder season, is ensured by underfloor heating and an infrared heater. With the large daybed and integrated shower, the sauna house can also be used as a guest house if desired.

Sauna by truck-mounted crane

The interior of this customized garden sauna was designed with rustic, weather-beaten old wood: for a cosy atmosphere with “alpine chic”. Rhombus profiled wood was used for the exterior cladding – the bevelled shape makes it easy for rain to drip downwards.

With a customized garden sauna, you can enjoy your garden all year round – and combine it with a healthy sauna . To ensure that the garden sauna does not become a permanent construction site, we manufacture your project completely in our manufactory before the complete, ready-to-use sauna house is then delivered to your garden by truck-mounted crane.
