Glass & wood: you should pay attention to this
To create your own personal dream sauna, we combine the wood of your choice with generous glass elements. Glass makes the temperature distribution in the sauna more uneven and compensates less for fluctuations in humidity. It is therefore important to choose a balanced ratio of materials for a sauna with a glass front. Two thirds wood and one third glass create the perfect balance between the components of your sauna.
In the door area, 8 mm thicktoughened safety glass is used, while 10 mm toughened safety glass is used in the remaining areas. This safety glass has increased thermal shock resistance and is highly impact, shock and bending resistant. Sauna with glass front: which stove?
For a custom-made sauna with a glass front, we recommend a free-standing heater. This is particularly effective due to the unobstructed view. To ensure that no visible connection cables spoil the perfect look at the end, we recommend – if feasible – running an empty conduit under the screed to the planned heater position in good time during construction. We will be happy to help you plan your sauna so that the power connections and cables for a free-standing heater are already laid appropriately. When calculating the correct heater output, the proportion of glass in your sauna must be taken into account accordingly. This is because, compared to a sauna made of wood, a sauna heater with a higher output is required here.

The right lighting concept for your sauna with glass front
Light is a very important design element: only with a well thought-out lighting concept can the sauna be perfectly staged and the overall ambience enhanced. We recommend high-quality LED lighting systems that have been specially manufactured for saunas and can withstand extreme heat and humidity. The lighting can be dimmed and, depending on the light source used, color changes are also possible to positively influence the mood.
