Germany’s best sauna manufacturers: corso sauna manufaktur

When it comes to Germany’s best sauna manufacturers, there is always talk of the corso sauna manufaktur. The manufactory has been in existence since 1968 and has been producing its products continuously and exclusively in Germany ever since. In addition to sauna projects, steam baths, infrared cabins and entire wellness areas, for example for the hotel industry, are also being implemented.

Every sauna and steam bath project is planned and built to measure: Made in Germany, since 1968.

CORSO 5013 w saunabau | corso saunamanufaktur

Sauna construction made to measure. Made in Germany.

The entire sauna construction is “made in Germany”: the production takes place at the headquarters in Bramsche in Lower Saxony. In contrast to Klafs®, for example, which also has production sites in Poland, corso manufactures exclusively in Germany. The sale and delivery, on the other hand, are worldwide: saunas have already been delivered by corso from the USA to the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Mallorca to China. In most cases, assembly is carried out on site by corso’s own team of carpenters; commercial customers sometimes assemble with their own teams.

History

The company was founded in 1968 by Karl-Heinz Bührmann and Werner Baumholt. Initially, it developed into a regional provider of classic sauna construction at the Wallenhorst site. In the decades that followed, corso expanded its field of activity to include individually planned sauna facilities and project-related custom-made products. In 2012, the brothers Max and Benedictus Lingens took over the company. This was followed by relocation to the newly built manufactory in Bramsche.

In the course of the company’s history, several further developments in construction and design language have been implemented, including a stronger focus on modern interior design, glass fronts and material-accentuated designs.

With the increasing demand for individual wellness areas in private and commercial environments, corso specialized entirely in custom-made sauna cabins. Production takes place entirely at the company’s headquarters in Bramsche. Made in Germany.

Right next to the manufactory is also the largest sauna exhibition in Germany with numerous design saunas and garden sauna models. There are other corso sauna exhibitions in Cologne, near Stuttgart and Munich as well as a sales office near Frankfurt.

Cooperation

In addition to direct sales (B2B and B2C), the company works with selected specialist partners who plan and implement projects together with corso. These include Hasenkamp GmbH, Pool & Home and other partners in the field of bathroom, spa and wellness equipment. Tailor-made saunas from corso production are also available through these partners.

Quality

corso stands for high-quality, individually planned sauna solutions: both in the indoor sauna area and in the garden sauna area (optionally as a sauna-only solution or as a complete solution including relaxation room, shower, toilet, minibar etc.).

corso places an absolute focus on aesthetic design, the optimal integration of the sauna into the respective living spaces and the optimal use of the available space. corso’s specialties are floating sauna benches, generous glass fronts and well thought-out lighting concepts. In addition, corso works with high-quality and special types of wood such as reclaimed wood, brushed thermo-aspen, walnut, oak and more.

Positioning

As a medium-sized company, corso employs over 70 people, most of whom are carpenters, carpenters as well as specialist planners and draughtsmen. corso also carries out the technical and lighting planning for all projects itself.

The company is involved in association work at the federal level to support scientific research and progress in the technical field. To this end, corso is a member of the German Sauna Association and the Federal Sauna Association.

The important trade magazines hausundwellness and Schwimmbad & Sauna regularly publish specialist articles on outstanding sauna and garden sauna projects by corso.

If you compare corso with Klafs®, it can be said that Klafs® is more than 10 times as big as corso with over 800 employees. Although Klafs® also offers custom-made products, the focus is primarily on predefined sauna models. corso, on the other hand, relies entirely on individual sauna construction and manufactures every detail according to customer requirements.

FAQ | corso Company Portrait

What makes corso different from other manufacturers in sauna construction?

corso has been one of the leading sauna manufacturers in Germany since 1968. The decisive difference lies in the consistent focus on tailor-made solutions: Each sauna is individually planned, constructed and manufactured entirely in Bramsche/Lower Saxony. In this way, unique sauna pieces are created that adapt exactly to the architectural conditions. Another special feature is the vertical range of manufacture: carpenters, designers, planners and technicians work in the same house and develop all the details together. In addition, there is a focus on high-quality wood species, modern glass architecture and special material combinations. corso deliberately refrains from international production sites and stands for 100% Made in Germany – a quality feature that is appreciated by both private and commercial clients.

Where does corso produce and how does the manufacturing process work?

The complete production takes place at the headquarters in Bramsche, Lower Saxony. This is where the manufactory, the planning office and the technical infrastructure are located. The process starts with a detailed measurement and planning phase, followed by technical design and individual material coordination. The production is carried out by experienced carpenters who manufacture the saunas in classic craftsmanship. Each sauna is assembled on a trial basis in production to ensure accuracy of fit and function. In most cases, the customer’s own teams also take care of the assembly. Thanks to this continuous in-house production, corso retains maximum quality control – a central reason for the long service life of the projects.

What sauna and wellness solutions does corso offer?

corso exclusively implements tailor-made wellness solutions – from the classic Finnish sauna to steam baths and complete SPA areas. For private homes, individual combinations of sauna, shower, infrared, relaxation area or tailor-made fixtures are often created. In commercial environments – such as hotels, resorts or fitness facilities – systems are planned and implemented according to high load standards. Modern designer saunas with floating benches, continuous glass fronts or characterful types of wood such as reclaimed wood, thermo-aspen or walnut are popular. In addition, corso develops complex light and sound concepts for a high-quality wellness experience. All projects are planned individually.

For which customer groups is corso the right partner?

corso works for private customers and professional clients. In the private sector, the spectrum ranges from compact saunas for city apartments to spacious SPA areas in single-family homes or holiday residences. Commercial customers often come from the hotel industry, the fitness and health sector or real estate development. They appreciate the planning accuracy, the high quality of materials and the reliable service. Thanks to its own production and experienced installation teams, corso can also implement large or technically demanding projects – for example, outdoor saunas or complex sloping roof situations. If you are looking for a long-lasting, tailor-made sauna, corso is the ideal place for you.

How does corso differ from Klafs® or other major sauna brands?

Klafs® is significantly larger with several hundred employees and offers a wide range of pre-planned sauna models, some with individual modifications. corso, on the other hand, is a specialized manufactory with complete in-house production in Germany and a clear focus: 100% custom-made sauna cabins. While Klafs® offers both series products and custom-made solutions, corso only produces unique pieces with high design standards, the construction and design of which are individually developed. corso is strongly oriented towards modern interior design, generous glass surfaces and high-quality wood species. For customers who want maximum individuality, architectural precision and personal collaboration, corso is the right choice.

Can I buy a sauna at corso?

Yes. At corso you can buy a custom-made sauna. Instead of series models, individual solutions are created that are precisely tailored to your room and your design wishes. The process begins with a consultation and ends with production in the manufactory in Bramsche and assembly by our own corso teams. This gives you a high-quality, custom-fit sauna “Made in Germany”, which is realized as a unique piece for private and also for commercial projects.

Can corso also implement international sauna projects?

Yes – corso has been delivering worldwide for many years and has implemented projects in the USA, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, France, Switzerland and China, among others. Numerous projects have also been built in Mallorca and Madeira. Production always takes place in Germany, international logistics are coordinated by corso by freight forwarder or container. Most of the installation is carried out by the company’s own assembly team, partly in cooperation with partners. This experience makes the manufactory ideal for both private and commercial international projects.
